Poor little girls...

Seeing that it is the holiday season our church has been decorated with festive Christmas items. One item was a cute little Christmas tree with lots of fun little decorations. The tree was placed outside the foyer of our chapel for all to enjoy.

In our church we have a nursery. The nursery accommodates children ages 18 months to 3 years old. In our ward there are many families that fall into a category that I'll call "Outer Darkness." I'll define Outer Darkness as the age where your child starts to walk and is to young to attend nursery, thus it makes it very difficult to go to Sunday School.

Those who fall into Outer Darkness are banished to the foyer to chit chat and run after eachother's children. If you put two and two together you know a nice decorated Christmas tree and group of curious toddlers don't mix very well.

As I turned into the foyer I saw four little girls picking, proding, slapping, and pulling on the decorations and the mother's taking turns moving the girls away in the hopes they would find something else they could turn their attention to.

I was amused and chuckled at the sight until Maria (a current member of Outer Darkness) quickly brought me to reality and requested, as sweet as Maria does, "Ryan will you please move this tree inbetween those doors!"

After an interesting tree carry by myself, which would also make a great pic, the tree was placed in the outer foyer away from the curious little squirts. Below is a picture of their reaction. I don't think they were very happy. Poor little things.

Morgan's 1st birthday and other tid-bits....

So our sweet little babe turned one this weekend....and of course, I just can't believe it. We are so happy she's come to our family, we love her so much!
She doesn't look too thrilled with her cake at this point, but soon she'll be glad it's in front of her!
Singing "Happy Birthday" to her with the candle lit and the lights out.
Yummo, I think she's starting to get the hang of it.Yea, she's liking it!
And more please....she's licking the plate. She went straight to the tub!
This is what happens when the kids get the camera...funny shots of themselves!
So Morgan got a couple of packages from Grandparents this week for her birthday. She decided that she would just climb up on the box and stand on it....give me a heart attack!
"See grandma, I love the package!"
Yet, another shot taken by who knows, and who knows when :)
Crazy buddy
Too cute!!

Playing toys in the kitchen on a Sunday morning before church a couple of weeks ago....she was lovin it!

Halloween Eve

Have you seen the ghost of John,
Long white bones and the rest all gone.....
whoooooo, whooooooooo......
Wouldn't it be chilly with no skin on!!!
Anyone remember or know that song? We do! We've been singing it all week and all day long. My kids are coming up with different versions of it and making it crazy, but I still think I sing it best in my most creepy voice :) Here's what we did today!
These are Rice Krispie treats with all kinds of goodness on top, yummo!!
Carter's preschool had a Halloween party and they were able to wear a costume, he's wearing his from last year...and had a SUPER time!
Vigilantly carving away....
We have true girls...they couldn't even touch the seeds, they were gagging!
Turned out okay I'd say!
The happy crew at the end of the day!

H.A.L.L.S. Retreat

For those of you who are waiting.....I'm directing you to my parent's blog (Gma & Gpa Hall) for the pictures and information on this year's Hall Annual Luxurious Lakeside Siesta retreat that was 2 weeks ago. My dad states it wonderfully in his letter to his mother, who passed away 5 years ago. We have turned the weekend into a sort of rememberance of her and her wonderful legacy to the rest of us. See my parents blog and you'll get the picture! ENJOY, I know I did!!!

Trunk or Treat!!!

It's that time of year again.....time for CANDY! Our ward had their annual trunk or treat activity last Saturday and it was a good time! They had a chili cookoff followed by a mini carnival of sorts with a cake walk, games and a haunted house! The trunk or treat is at the end and I'm sad I didn't get pictures of that this year, but here's the kids before we loaded into the van to go down to the church. Maycee is a witch, Carter a ninja, Madyson a pirate and Morgan a bumble bee. The rediculous amount of spoils from the night....we'll just give it all away on Halloween and get more then! No need to buy candy twice.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!!

The last day of soccer.....horray!

Fall soccer has come to a close, it is bitter sweet. While we love watching the kids play and improve and have fun, we will also love having our Saturday mornings back and 2 evenings a week.

Ryan was Carter's team coach this year and I think they both enjoyed it!

I couldn't get a picture of Madyson's team this year because I was in the van with a sleeping Morgan, and Ryan was coaching Carter's team at the time.

Caramel Apples!

This was my first year at attempting to dip apples, and once I got the caramel right it was easy and delish!! I ended up just melting down a bag of caramels with a little water and that worked fine, but I wanted the taste of homeade carmel for it....oh well, they were still yummo! The yummy fall caramel apple....there just isn't much better!

I hope you all get to enjoy one of these treats this fall!

Our Big Girls

We haven't had too many pictures of M&M lately as they are usually at school now when I get the camera out, so here are a few that I took the other day. (I would take some when they get home from school, but we are usually busy with homework, reading, and soccer practice, basically just general madness and mayhem once 4 o'clock hits and the bus arrives!!!)

Maycee's such a poser, she loves to have her picture taken!

Madyson doing her typical thing...

But she sure can be a doll too :)

Love you Ladies!!!

Life these days...

Well, soccer season is beginnig again, and this time Carter is playing too. Last week was the first, it's going to be a great season!Ryan is Carter's team coach, he's so excited....um yea, Carter is :)
Lena Baby just being cute
The kids picked some of my flowers from the beds out front and made this for me, isn't it pretty? I love the bright colors, but love the fact even more that they thought to do it.

4 Years Old!!!

It was birthday time last week as Carter turned 4 years old! I can hardly believe he is that old already. He is our special little Buster and we are so happy to have him in our family! My favorite thing he'll tell me lately is this, "Mom, I'm so sweet to you, huh?" Isn't that funny and cute?! We love you Carter and hope you have an awesome 4th year! Sorry the pics are pretty crummy...our camera was giving us fits.
