Odds-n-Ends

T-ball is almost done this season. It's been a hot one. Madyson has been a great player for her team and is a heavy hitter too. She's definetly ready for softball next year! Watch out! Here comes the ball!
Macee loves riding her bike while Ryan mows the lawn. I think she likes her helmet and elbow guards just as much as actually riding though. She's still on training wheels, and whenever I mention to her that she needs to start practicing without them, she just looks at me like I'm crazy, I'm not right?!!!
Miss Diva herself, she's learned this pose from the wedding!
There's our cute little Maycee Rae!
Carter's first experience with running through the sprinklers last night. What a boy!

Chillin' on the front steps
Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!
Drippinn wet, but oh so fun! Eventually the girls joined in, and before you know it we had 3 soaked kids with grass all over them. Life is good in the summer!!!

Ryan & Maria in Chicago

March 10, 2008 our beloved President Bush told us he wanted to send us some money to stimulate the economy. Maria and I, being the good patriots we are, took his request to heart. Last Thursday we took part of our little check to Chicago and began to stimulate...stimulate the economy that is.

Here are a couple of pictures of our stimulating trip to Chicago. :)

This is our view from the Intercontinental Hotel. The white building to the right is the Wrigley Building, as in Wrigley Gum. The Chicago River is between the two building, the street below is Michigan Ave.

Chicago Tribune Building right out our window. First thing I thought of was the bubble lady in Ghost Busters. Remember she was on top of that scary building acting all crazy like?

This is some weird looking thing in the middle of Millennial Park. It is pretty cool though.

This is me touching the weird thing. At first it looked like a butt, then a bean, now I'll just call it some weird thing.

This is Maria and I posing. We're posers! HA! Look at the posers!

These are some fountains at Millennial Park. The images on the big blocks change and show the faces of famous people from Chicago. I thought it was a great idea and would be a great thing for our kids to do if they were there. Maria sure had a great time running around in the water. Then I saw all the seagulls sitting on top of the block fountains, I am sure they weren't just chillin up there doing nothing. What do seagulls do? Eat and Poop. They poop in the fountains, then the nice fresh cool water falls all over the kids as they run and play....nasty. Teasing, Maria really wasn't running in the water, seriously though that would be funny and I assure you there would be pictures.

Maria enjoying herself on a little boat ride around Navy Pier on Lake Michigan.

Me being a POSER again. Just so you know that large building behind me is the second largest building in Chicago.

Maria not posing, but looking very good for someone that is 19 weeks pregnated. She was checking with her sister Jessica, she was watching our children while we were away. THANKS JESS!!!!

Cute kids...

Three Van Goghs paintings. They wanted to give them to me, but I told them I didn't have room in my luggage. We agreed to leave them at the muesum.

Maria and I had a great time. We did A LOT of walking and A LOT of eating. I think we can comfortably say we experienced Chicago. We appreciate Jessica for coming out and watching our kids, Marshall for letting Jess come out and the Hall crew for taking her to and from the airport. We made some good memories that we'll never forget. And again, a special thanks to President Bush for making this all possible. :) HA!

KC ROYALS

Ryan and Carter enjoying the Royals game.Maycee and Madyson hammin' it up.
The new jumbo screen they got this year. Ryan says it's the largest HD in the world.
Maria and Maycee.
The kids lovin' it, surely they have sticky fingers from cotton candy. Ryan in the background yelling his all :)
Occationally Ryan will get the RTS Company season tickets from work and come home to see if anyone wants to go to the Royals game with him. Does he even have to ask?! We all love going, even if for the kids it's the 3rd inning cotton candy!

Nothing like a good Kansas Thunderstorm

I remember so many times growing up in Utah playing out in the rain. We would dam up the gutters and when we had a lot of water built up behind our little dirt wall we'd break it and race our popsicles sticks down the street.

We don't play in the rain in Kansas. You can die! For REAL, lightning will come down and fry you and your little popsicle stick racing friends.

I wanted to share some of our storms we've had of late. I've tried to capture some pictures and video of the thunderstorms we have around here. They are amazing and at times scary, but of course that makes it exciting. Here are some pictures and videos to check out, they don't do the storms justice though.

Here is what the radar has looked like so often this year.

And here is what the backyard looks like when we get a 4-5 of inches of rain in an afternoon.

Not sure how this picture got in there.....

Here is a short little video of the storm as it passes. Like I said it doesn't do any justice to the storm. It is like a strobe light most of the time with all the lightning strikes.

And for those nights when you're sitting in your house wondering what the Beasley's weather is like tonight, here is a good link for you to click on. We're about 35 miles South of Kansas City.

Thought I was kiddin...?

If any of you saw my Beasley's Meadow post you may remember when I talked about running over bunnies or snakes in my yard. I know you totally thought I was exaggerating, I did!

So I'm racing along, kicking balls across the yard when something strange catches my eye....

6 Little baby bunnies. FOR REAL!, I ran right over them. I had just lifted the lawn mower so it would cut the grass longer, otherwise there could be little baby rabbit pieces all over the place. All the kids were in the back yard, so that could have been interesting.

I don't even need to describe how excited Maria was to have these 6 little baby rabbits holed up in our yard. Seriously, what am I suppose to do now? Put them in a box and punch holes in the top for them to breath....maybe put some grass and sticks in there for them to climb on...?

I didn't want 6 little bunnies and their mother hopping around in the backyard eating and digging holes everywhere, so we did what we needed to do.

We put them in a box. Madyson said she was sure that within a week they would be fine on there own. "Their mom's don't take care of them very long."

As Ty from Extreme Home Makeover would say..."Well there is only one thing left to say little bunny babies....Welcome Home...Welcome Home."

The WEDDING!!!

So the wedding was beautiful, and despite the cold drizzly weather that day, we all had a wonderful day. We are so glad that we were able to attend Mike and Kimberly's wedding, and are so excited for them and their new future together! Below: Our infamous kids striking poses, they were getting good at it by the end of the day!Ryan, Kimberly, and Marisa at the reception center.
HA! Maycee found this of Kimberly's after the wedding and walked out of the bedroom with it on! We are all just on the floor rolling with laughter. She'll hate me some day for taking her picture of this, but it was so funny. Someday it must go on her own wedding video. She had no idea what it was!
Grandpa Beasley, Ryan and Carter at the reception center.
Beautiful Madyson in her evening wear for the night. The girls loved their fancy green dresses, they were gorgeous!!!
Sweet little Maycee, huddled by others, it was so cold outside during pictures!
The Bride, Kimberly. She looked amazing that day!!!Ryan and his best friend, Jonny Vellinga all grown up! He just graduated with his M.D., so he's now Dr. Vellinga-way to go!!! It was a blast visiting with him, it made Ryan's whole trip!
Keith, Kimberly, Mike, and Janet at the temple.
Carter Boy striking a pose. I just caught this randomly, it was so cute!
Kimberly and Mike getting ready for pictures
Kimberly, Ryan and Marisa at the wedding luncheon, which was so delicious!!!
