So, if you can see my Nike + Mini person to the right here then you'll have probably noticed that she's been making fun of me and giving me grief about not getting a workout in. Well, for not doing it, I have a fairly good enough reason. The past 2 weeks the Beasley children, all 4 of them, have been battling high fevers, ear infections, strep throat, bronchitis and basically CRUD. At one point all 4 of them had the sickness, and some had all of the above illnesses and others only 2 or 3. I know, that doesn't sound much better, but at least it wasn't all 4 of them with all of it. We are finally on our last doses of antibiotic, but some are still on breathing treatments. Hence the reason the Mom of the family hasn't been able to get one running shoe on in 2 weeks!
So....today is about 70 degrees and I'm dying to go out and run or walk or do something. I just started anonther Nike + Challenge today, so I wanted to get a good start. Maybe a fast walk with the stroller to the freeway and back (2.5 miles). Then run the same distance once Ryan's home from work, to total 5 miles for the day. I thought it was a nice thought :). Well, at the point when I was going to be able to go Morgan began screaming her head off and Carter was having a massive fit about not getting to finish watching Toy Story. Well...the screaming baby won and the little brother got to finish his show, and Morgan fell asleep about 5 min ago. BUT....the Mom didn't get to go out and get a run or something in, so I'm only going to get to do half of what I wanted, since there won't be enough daylight for 5 miles. Ughhh... So now the girls will be off the bus in 5-10 min and the house will start to rock, just as it does everyday from 4-5:30. I am bummed...need I say more?! My Nike Mini won't get the workout in that she so desperately desires after all. And....the girls are now home and the baby is awake, such is life.

i'm sorry to hear about all the illnesses, we had all that a couple of weeks before x-mas. Tell me more about this Nike Challenge, I would love to do it too. I have been looking for something to motivate me. Only I sprained my ankle 3 weeks ago pretty badly and it still hurts now, so I won't be able to run, but I could walk. Take care and things will start to turn around. Love you!
So I went for a run today as well... Reve and Lexi were just waking up from naps so I ran out to the mail box and ran home. Our weather was snowing and cold but I wasn't chased by any dogs.
Sorry about the kids. We hope that they are all feeling better. It's crummy that your running plans got ruined. However, we think that you are pretty great to work on running with four kids. It amazes me what people with kids fit in that I can't seem to fit in having no kids.
That doesn't sound like any fun! I hope everyone is on the mend - sending get well hugs!!!!
You looked fabulous when I saw you the other day, so no worries. Tell that ipod nike girl to back off! :)
It is so hard with little ones to squeeze in the exercise. I get discouraged with the ups and downs of physical fitness due to child bearing. I suppose there is a season for everything right? Your description of the day sure made me feel better - I suppose some days just aren't as fulfilling as others huh. Sometimes I kid myself into thinking that other people have it better than I do, or that there homes run smoother than mine. It always makes me feel better to realize that I am living REAL life. :) Good luck with the running.
