Thought I was kiddin...?

If any of you saw my Beasley's Meadow post you may remember when I talked about running over bunnies or snakes in my yard. I know you totally thought I was exaggerating, I did!

So I'm racing along, kicking balls across the yard when something strange catches my eye....

6 Little baby bunnies. FOR REAL!, I ran right over them. I had just lifted the lawn mower so it would cut the grass longer, otherwise there could be little baby rabbit pieces all over the place. All the kids were in the back yard, so that could have been interesting.

I don't even need to describe how excited Maria was to have these 6 little baby rabbits holed up in our yard. Seriously, what am I suppose to do now? Put them in a box and punch holes in the top for them to breath....maybe put some grass and sticks in there for them to climb on...?

I didn't want 6 little bunnies and their mother hopping around in the backyard eating and digging holes everywhere, so we did what we needed to do.

We put them in a box. Madyson said she was sure that within a week they would be fine on there own. "Their mom's don't take care of them very long."

As Ty from Extreme Home Makeover would say..."Well there is only one thing left to say little bunny babies....Welcome Home...Welcome Home."

I read too fast and thought that you DID run over them! I'm so glad you didn't. How sweet of you guys to give them a nice new home.

like you we had an animal experience... it was baby birdies stuck in our outside vent. They built a nest so i had to dig them out with a long garden tool. Sad to say they didn't end up finding a happy home. It really killed my spirit.

So weird! What are the chances? I'm so glad you didn't hit them...I was zooming in on the picture thinking they were all mulched...so glad to hear they are okay!

Too bad we don't live closer I would take one off your hands. Do you think they would "mail" well?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Ryan but this is Kansas and the hawks need to eat. They did go to their new home but I don't think it was in that field if you know what I mean!

Jared hit the nail on the head. Those bunnies were a tasty treat for some hungry bird of prey!

We had baby bunnies in our yard too, I thought that the kids were putting rocks in the yard and I started moving them and then something moved and totally freaked me out! What do you know, baby bunnies. Madyson is right, within a couple of weeks, they were gone. Call me sometime, we are planning a road trip to UT this summer.
