Our Midwestern 4th of July...

Since the dawn of time...or since I was a little boy, the Beasley family has ALWAYS attended the Clearfield, UT parade. So when we moved to Kansas I figured every little town would have a 4th of July parade. I was wrong, there is really only one parade in the area, that is in Lenexa about 20 minutes away.

The first part of the parade is all canidates running for different offices in the area. Can't ever have to many VOTE FOR ME stickers. For goodness sakes people throw some candy!!! Look at this poor little boy...

Here is with his VOTE FOR ME fans and stickers. Every boys dream...

Maycee being a cute kid!

Another cute kid!

We're all settled in and waiting for the parade to start!

Throw us some candy!!

There are train tracks right in the middle of the parade route. Lucky for the lady in the red corvette all dressed up in a Statue of Liberty costume a train came and she was able to sit in front of us for a good 5 minutes while the train passed. I'm sure she was sitting there thinking, "What am I doing here, or someone really owes me for this one."

We're just standing here waiting for the candy... They did finally get some candy thanks to the local New Life Church that was inspired to bring some candy.

Me!
Madyson out playing with the illegal fireworks. Where are her PARENTS...? Taking pictures, real nice! Her uncles would be so proud.

We went to the Salazars for fireworks at the high school. We had a quick basketball game after we ate. This is me playing some ball with Elder Ale. He plays college ball at BYU Hawaii, he was suppose to let me slam it over him, but he just couldn't do it. At least I'll have a good picture of him when he's in the NBA.

We had a good 4th of July here in Kansas. However we really missed our families and hope they know how much we appreciate them.

God Bless the USA!

Nice! Maria..you failed to mention what a ham your hubby is! I find great humor in reading about the Beasley clan. The Hall family reunions must be a lively event! I am so glad that your 4th was so much fun with political stickers and all!

Man, you guys are really committed to that parade! You've been every year, haven't you?

Good to see the Salazar 4th of July Party. We watched a firworks show from a park down the street. The sprinklers went off ten minutes before the fireworks. The kids loved it.

Well, let me fill you in on the Clearfield Parade. In my opinion-it was really 'tops' this year. I was quite impressed. Mike, Kim and your Dad sat in front of Pizza Hut and we waved at them from across the street. We were late and having those candy anxious kids we have to sit right on the street you know. Anyway, it was really good and all of Clearfield missed you guys!!!!

PS- Check out my Blog later I will post some pics of the parade for you.....

Hey guys!
We went to a parade here in Flagstaff and it just wasn't the same.........no jazzercise gals, no shriners, no Scott Romo on his bike....but it wasn't humid or hot either and I didn't once think of chiggers when I walked on the grass!
Miss you guys!
