Lava Hot Springs

Each year for the past 200 or so years my mom's family (Weaver Family) has been making the trek to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho for some summer fun.
Typically a group of us will wait outside the hotel for everyone to arrive. Once we have a decent group we'll head to the huge pool that Lava is famous for. This year we ran into a problem. The pool added some huge slides which have brought the masses to Lava packing the pool to the point it wouldn't have been fun to go.

So we shook things up a bit this year and rented some tubes and headed down the river. Below is our first run, we were able to make the next three with Matt and his klan. The bottom and sides of the river are made up of Lava rock, so if you go into the river you're going to get torn up. It isn't unusual to see someone walking the streets with some bloody streaks up their back. We made out of it with a small scare of my sandals floating away, scratch on the foot, and a nick on the bottom.

As you can see the second day we made it to the pool.

Madyson was so brave and jumped from the 1st platform. She almost attempted the middle one, until she walked to the edge of it, looked down and then RAN back and down the stairs as fast as she could. Got that on film also, it was pretty funny!

Cute little girls!!!
